July 7th is Tanabata, “Star Festival”.
According to the Chinese legend the two stars, Altair and Vega, were separated by the milky way
but once a year they would reunite on July 7th.
Festivals are held in many places in Japan in July and August to celebrate the annual meeting of the two stars.
People typically write their wishes on small strips of paper and hang them from bamboo branches.

Come join our creative Star Festival in Amsterdam! We’re preparing

*Tanabata ornament making by Kyoko Kinder Kunst Klas
*Crown making and milky way painting by Flatto81 using handmade eco inks
*Water balloon fishing & (toy) gold fish scooping
*Japanese snacks and stuff stand by Roppongi (cash only)
*Tanabata photo booth

You will go home with your own Tanabata bamboo branch, gold fish and water balloon.
Don’t forget to wear your Yukata or costumes if you have them.

To join Tanabata-kai, fill in your info and submit on this page.
Pay and save your entry number to win a big Tanabata ornament! Space is limited so first come, first serve.

*Please note that Kyoko Inatome and Jacaranda Tree Montessori cannot be held responsible for accidents or injury during the festival.
